Kern County Homeless Collaborative looking for volunteers for next 'Point In Time' count

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Homeless Collaborative said it hoping to sign up to 500 volunteers to help execute the homeless census happening in January. Residents can now volunteer for the Point in Time count.

The organization's goal is to find trends within the county's homeless population with the hope of reducing the number of people living anywhere that is not sheltered.

The survey is scheduled for January 24 from 3:30 p.m. to 10 a.m. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old.
