AVID. It's called Advancement Via Individual Determination.
Throughout the country students participate in the program in hopes of bettering themselves and their futures.
Monday night, Kern County honored 12 high school AVID students, as their Students of the Year. The students were selected by teachers and administrators who believed they conveyed the essence of the AVID program
Students were given sweatshirts from the colleges they will be attending in the fall.
