Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation raising funds for Hurricane Matthew victims

Posted

In partnership with the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center, the Kern County Law Enforcement Foundation will be helping assist Hurricane Matthew victims with supplies and funds needed.

The public can donate from October 21 to October 28, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

The goal is to fill two 26-foot storage containers and deliver them to Lumberton, North Carolina.

Evacuees are in need of:

  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Cots
  • Blankets
  • Hygiene care products
  • Trash bags
  • Clothing
  • Over the counter medicine
  • Packaged nonperishable food (chips, nuts, dried fruit, snacks)
  • Water

Evacuees are in desperate need of water. Any donation is welcome at the Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center, located at 6501 Truxtun Avenue.

Online cash donations are also available, and 100 percent of donations will go to victims of Hurricane Matthew.
