The Kern County Mental Health Services department will now be called the Kern County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.

The board of supervisors approved the re-branding during the Tuesday morning meeting.

The KC Mental Health Department said "mental health" does not reflect the industry standard for treatment and services.
