Kern County Mental Health is changing its name to Behavioral Health and Recovery Services.

According to the department, they changed their name to include recovery in the new name, illustrating the importance of recovery and support to healing.

They offer therapy and psychiatric care as well as "skills based" treatment - teaching clients ways to deal with their illness and return to a full life within their community.
