The Kern County Network for Children hosted a conference Thursday to discuss the realities of poverty.

The event is hosted by the Kern County Network for Children and focused on how to effectively connect with families who live in poverty.

Donna is the author of "See Poverty, Be The Difference," and "An Action Approach to Educating Students in Poverty."
