Kern County Water Tender 51 is currently supporting the Ferguson Fire operation near Yosemite. 

There are now 36 full time Kern County firefighters and 17 seasonal firefighters battling the flames. The Kern County Fire Department has sent several Office of Emergency Service engines in support efforts. KCFD has sent one type 1 engine, three type 3 engines and one command vehicle. 

As of now, the fire is impacting just over 17,000 acres and currently 5% contained.

According to KCFD, OES equipment is paid for by the state and staffed with KCFD personnel when needed for large fire missions in California.
