To help residents prepare for excessive rainfall anticipated in this El Niño year, the County of Kern will be holding two El Niño preparedness meetings in Mojave and Tehachapi Saturday, January 9, 2016.
As with the other meetings, representatives from the following agencies will talk about how to prepare for a flood, what to do in a flood emergency, and emergency resources available to the public:
- Kern County Fire Kern County Animal Services
- Kern County Sheriff’s Office National Weather Service
- Kern County Public Works American Red Cross
- Kern County Public Health Community Action Partnership - 211
- California Highway Patrol
Meetings will be held: Saturday, January 9, 2016
