BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — On Friday, November 30 at about 11 a.m., officers assigned to the Kern County Probation Department's Gang Intervention and Suppression Team located methamphetamine packaged for sales at a home near 100 San Pedro Street in McFarland.

While at home, a man, Samuel Alaniz, 20, arrived at the residence. According to officers, Alaniz fled on foot to a home near 200 San Pedro Street and officers observed him discard an item in the trash can, later determined to be a loaded firearm.

Contact was made with Alaniz at the residence and an assault rifle was located in the residence as well. After a search warrant was obtained, officers located an additional firearm and multiple live rounds of ammunition of carious calibers.

Alaniz was arrested and charged with resisting arrest, possession of stolen property and various gun and gang related charges.
