KERN COUNTY, Calif. — With summer nearly over parents are getting their students ready to head back to school and Kern County Public Health wants to help. All this week you can take your child to the public health department to get vaccinated.

The clinic will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Friday. The vaccination clinic is being held at the Veteran's Hall located at 2101 Ridge Road here in Bakersfield. Officials say get there early or expect a wait.

Bring your child's shot record and a parent or guardian must be present. Kern County Public Health Services Department accepts cash, checks, credit cards, CHDP, Medi-Cal, Kern Family Health Care, Health Net and most private insurances.
