Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting in South Bakersfield after receiving reports of several gun shots heard in the area of Altus Street and South M Street.
When deputies arrived just before 6:30 a.m. on Friday, they located several spent shell casings near 1100 Altus Street. According to police, they located a male victim near South Chester Avenue and El Serrano Drive.
Officials said that after further investigation, it was revealed that the victim was shot on Altus Street. He was transported to a hospital and is now in stable condition.
