Kern County Sheriff's officials and their Activities League hosted the 12th annual fishing derby Saturday at the Park at Riverwalk. 

This event will raise money for the Kern County sheriff’s department activities league which is dedicated to shaping the youth.

Prizes will be given to the top three finishers in different categories, there will also be face painting, food vendors and raffles.

Everyone is required to have a valid fishing license and bring their own gear.

Registration  for the event started at 7 am.

The event will be held until noon.

The admission prices for ages 17 and under are $5 and $10 for ages 18 and up.
