Bakersfield police have determined a suspicious package near the intersection of Lake Street and Baker Street is not explosive using X-ray.

Bomb Squad had been brought out to investigate and are now taking the package back to evidence to determine what it was.

BPD will also look at security footage to see who placed the package in the street.

Streets will reopen in the next hour, police are taking the tape down now.
