The Kern County Sheriff's Office announced Saturday morning that the Buttonwillow substation has reopened. Officials said the substation will be staffed with a sergeant and eight deputies and will have 24/7 coverage.
The office closed on February 20, 2016 because of budget cuts.
The office hours will be Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and closed for lunch between 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. for walk in service. The office phone number is (661) 764-5613. To report a crime, suspicious activity, fraud or scams they ask residents to call (661) 861-3110. There is also the option to report a crime online at www.kernsheriff.com. If you have an emergency, call 911.
