BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, a Bakersfield man was arrested for allegedly kidnapping and raping a 19-year-old woman.
"On August 4, 2019, at 3:28pm, the Kern County Sheriff’s Office was called regarding the rape and kidnapping of a 19-year-old woman. The suspect kidnapped the victim at gunpoint in the Bakersfield area. The victim has been hospitalized with moderate injuries. On August 5, 2019, around 9:00am, KCSO investigators were able to locate and arrest the suspect in the Los Angeles area."
The suspect has been identified as 20-year-old Armando Avalos of Bakersfield. He was returned to Kern County where he faces charges of attempted murder, rape and kidnapping.
