BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A Kern County Sheriff's Office deputy has been charged following sexual assault allegations involving a 21-year-old Rosamond woman.

Last month, KCSO said it received information that on August 24 around 7 p.m. Deputy Michael Clark sexually assaulted the alleged victim. The woman claimed that the incident happened inside Clark's patrol car while he was on duty.

The victim was reportedly walking home when Deputy Clark offered her a ride and she accepted. He then allegedly forced himself on her before allowing her to leave the car.

Clark is facing charges of sexual battery and false imprisonment with violence.
