BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office has identified the driver of a car that was killed after his vehicle collided with a train in East Bakersfield.
According to the KCSO, 21-year-old Zanhi Williams was killed when he lost control of his silver Nissan while attempting to pass another vehicle on Edison Highway at around 11 a.m. Wednesday morning. His car veered onto the shoulder and onto the railroad tracks where it was struck by an eastbound BNSF train.
Both Williams and his female passenger were ejected from the vehicle. The woman suffered major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
Her condition is not known at this time.
