BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting that turned deadly Friday night in East Bakersfield.

KCSO said deputies were dispatched to a shooting in the area of Niles St. and Barlow St. around 11:20 p.m. Friday.

When deputies arrived on scene they found two men with gunshot wounds.

Both men were taken to area hospitals, but officials said one of the men was pronounced dead shortly after.

KCSO said the other man had minor to moderate injuries.

As of 12:30 Saturday morning, a portion of Barlow St. and a portion of Niles St. were blocked.

No suspect information has been released at this time.
