The Kern County Sheriff's Office announced that they would begin drug testing detention employees.
In a statement released on Friday, the KCSO said it had reached an agreement with the Kern County Detentions Officer Association that would allow them to randomly drug test employees. The agreement allows for random testing of 3% of the staff twice a year.
In addition to the KCDOA, the sheriff's office already randomly drug tests KCSO staff per an agreement reached in 2018 with the Kern Law Enforcement Association and the Kern County Sheriff’s Command Association.
