BAKERSFIELD, CA. — The Kern County board of supervisors is scheduled to discuss additional money for the fire fund this week.
The board will look at cost recovery methods for fire services contracts. Those methods are projected to generate an additional $10.3 million annually for the fire fund.
According to the County of Kern Facebook page, "The fire fund is giving the Fire Department the ability to immediately invest in needed and new equipment, and eliminating the Fire Fund’s deficit reliance on funding from other General Fund departments that can no longer afford to provide that help."
The upcoming board of supervisors vote is set for Tuesday, July 30.
