BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern High School District Board of Trustees will consider amending its policy to allow previous students who weren't able to receive a diploma the ability to get one.

According to the policy, previous students would be able to receive their diplomas retroactively. Students who left the state of California against their will having their education interrupted are eligible for diplomas.

Also, students who were interned during World War II or who were honorably discharged veterans of World War II, the Korean War or Vietnam would be eligible to receive a diploma.

Students who are terminally ill would also be eligible for an honorary diploma.

The board is scheduled to meet on Tuesday night at 6:15 p.m.
