The Kern High School District is facing a lawsuit from one of it's employees. 

The attorney for Anthony McCarthy said that an employment discrimination lawsuit has been filed against the district and the districts board of trustees.

McCarthy's attorney said that discrimination stems from McCarthy being African American but wouldn't release other details about the case.

McCarthy has worked as a school police officer for a little more than two years, beginning in May of 2016, according to his attorney.

Documents show that the suit was filed on July 31 and the case is expected back in court in November.
