Kern Medical employees could see a wage increase thanks to a new labor contract agreement.

Kern Medical and the Service Employees International Union Local 521 have come to a tentative agreement on a labor contract for staff of Kern Medical. The contract would affect nearly 1,600 employees.

The contract has been ratified by Kern Medical staff and must be ratified by Kern Medical's Board of Governors before it can go into effect. The new agreement would give Kern Medical employees their first wage increase since 2013.
