Kern Medical is offering free breast cancer screenings today

Posted
Kern Medical is hosting a free breast cancer screening event today.

Every woman who goes to Kern Medical's main campus will receive an exam from a medical provider at no cost.

Anyone with a finding that is considered suspicious will be referred for further testing. According to Kern Medical, women between ages 45 and 54 should get a mammogram every year. After age 55, experts recommend changing that to once every two years. However, the recommendations change for women who fall into the category of above average or high risk for breast cancer.
