Kern Medical has won a $60,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety to help improve safety for cyclists and pedestrians.

The grant will go towards Kern Medical's Safe Streets education program, which focuses on educating elementary through high school students on cyclist and pedestrian safety. The grant will also help the program provide safety equipment, including bike helmets and headlights.

Kern Medical's Safe Streets education program has partnered with Standard Middle School to provide on-site education training for students on how to prevent cyclist and pedestrian crashes.
