The Kern River Ranger District plans to temporarily close a section of the Sherman Pass Road this fall through traffic. 

The work will begin near Fish Creek Campgrounds on the Kern Plateau. 

The closure and bridge installation is planned for September 10 through December 15. 

Officials say the project site is just East of the Fish Creek campground.
