(UPDATE: October 24, 2018 5:24 p.m.)

According to KCFD, there was only a small fire which burned off the gas. Firefighters monitored the area and checked for any type of hazardous gases in the area and determined that there weren't any.

Evacuations were then lifted and KCFD determined that the area was safe for people and cleared.

KCFD is closing Copus Road after two incidents in the same area.

KCFD was first called out to Copus Road across from Langer Farms after two people were reportedly burned. The two patients suffered minor burns below the elbow. KCFD says the patients were alert and responsive. They are still investigating the cause of the burns.

KCFD was then called out to the same area after a "company officer" reported seeing gas coming up from an underground pipe. KCFD says there is no fire, however the pipe is leaking. Firefighters are currently working to determine the owner of the pipe in order to shut it off.

Copus Road has been closed in both directions, and workers have been evacuated as a precaution.

This is a developing story. We will update you as more information becomes available.
