The Kern High School District named new principals for Centennial and Independence High Schools for the next school year.

Monday night, the Board of Trustees appointed Matt Guinn to be principal of Centennial High School, according to Lisa Krch, KHSD spokesperson.

Guinn has twenty years of experience as a teacher, dean of students and assistant principal, Krch said.

Guinn replaces Dean Juola who recently became the principal of Independence High School. 

Both Guinn and Juola will assume their new roles July 1.
