The Kern High School District is encouraging parents to get involved in their children's education at Parent Involvement Day on Thursday.
National Parent Involvement Day has been celebrated for more than 20 years. This year it will be held on Nov. 16.
There are several activities planned for Parent Involvement Day 2017 throughout KHSD schools.
At Mira Monte High School, coffee and donuts will be given out at 7:45 a.m. in front of the school.
North High is hosting a night of bingo, free dinner, games and fun at 5:30 p.m.
Highland High School will be screening "Screenagers" at 6 p.m. in Wesley R. Anderson Hall.
South High will have games, food, and a parent university tours parent center from 5 to 7 p.m.
