BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — With summer right around the corner, the Kern High School District is launching its free Seamless Summer Breakfast and Lunch program next week.
According to a news release, starting June 3 the district will serve a free and healthy breakfast to KHSD students and community children 18 years of age or younger.
Every year, the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations such as the Kern High School District to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer.
District officials say these meals will be provided at Arvin, Bakersfield, East Bakersfield, Foothill, Golden Valley, Highland, Independence, Kern Valley, Mira Monte, North, Ridgeview, Shafter, South, and West High Schools.
The program ends on July 12, 2019.
