LOS ANGELES, Calif. - Firefighters from L.A. County made their way through flames and embers of the so-called Lake Fire to save an American flag.
In the video below from Local 1014 union, it showed crews pulling the flag down off a pole as flames raged around them.
"Even as we battle fast-spreading flames and dangerous conditions, our members continue to serve with respect and honor," the union tweeted.
The wildfire continues to grow in size but so have containment efforts.
According to officials, the Lake Fire has scorched more than 11,000 acres and containment has grown to 12%.
L.A. County Fire Department also reported 5 structures destroyed and more than 5400 structures are still threatened. Evacuations and some road closures are still in effect. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
