Community leaders came together to celebrate law enforcement and first responders in Lamont on Wednesday for the second annual "Law Enforcement Thank You Lunch."
Businesses, educators and the Lamont Greater Chamber of Commerce provided 2-inch thick Harris Ranch New York steak lunches while the Arvin High School Color Guard will present colors with local veterans being honored.
John Sabovich started the luncheon last year because "these men and women risk their lives daily, yet seldom get the recognition they deserve."
The event will go from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St. Augustine Church located at 10601 Myrtle Avenue, Lamont.
