BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The City of Bakersfield announced that portions of California Avenue and Mohawk Street will be closed next week road striping and concrete barrier removal.
California Avenue will be closed on Monday, July 6th, and Tuesday, July 7th, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. in both directions between Marella Way and Easton Drive. One lane will remain open in each direction while work is underway.
On Tuesday night, July 7th, between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. the southbound direction of Mohawk Street between the Westside Parkway and Truxtun Avenue will be closed to remove temporary concrete barriers. At least one southbound lane will remain open while this work is underway.
Drivers should seek alternative routes during this time, or expect delays. The City of Bakersfield asks drivers to be cautious and to look out for workers and equipment in the construction zones.
