Animals evacuated from the Oildale and Cottonwood fires were transported to the Kern County Fairgrounds Monday afternoon.

In total, three cows, five horses, five goats, a miniature pony and two potbelly pigs were taken to the fairgrounds by Kern County Animal Services and Bakersfield City Animal Control. 

Displaced animals who need a place to stay can be dropped off at gate 26.

Owners going to pick up their animals need to bring an ID and proof of ownership.
