The Latination art exhibit celebrated its 8th year on Friday with artwork from dozens of local artists. 

This year, some of the artists made political statements with their piece in hopes of starting a conversation. 

The exhibit featured several paintings that celebrated Hispanic legends like singer Vicente Fernandez, painter Frida Kahlo, and local activist Dolores Huerta. 

The exhibit is open all month from Tuesday to Friday at Metro Galleries in downtown.
