The California Legislature is expected to vote on a bill banning local governments from creating new taxes on your favorite soda like Coke and Pepsi. 

If passed, this would be a big win for the beverage industry as it seeks to prevent cities and counties from imposing such taxes. The soda industry initiated a ballot measure that will make it challenging for cities and counties to raise taxes. However, agreed to drop the measure for the bill.
