The Lion Fire burning in the Sequoia National Park could impact air quality for the Kern River Valley.

The fire started burning last Sunday and has already charred more than 3800 acres.

The fire, which officials say was caused by a lightening strike, is burning north of Lion Meadow.

Part of the Meadow is owned by the RM Pyle Boys Camp which provides mentoring for children in need.

There are nearly 200 firefighters working to push back the flames. Full containment isn't expected until after Thanksgiving.
