BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — U.S. Air Force Airman Diego Mendoza graduated from basic training at the Joint Base, San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

Mendoza completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies. Those who complete basic training also earn credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Mendoza is the son of Ignacio and Martha Mendoza, brother of Hugo Mendoza and brother-in-law of Annalise Mendoza and is a 2018 graduate of Golden Valley High School.
