The local Boy Scouts of America troop held a special dinner on Thursday to honor two Kern County residents with the Distinguished Citizen of the Year award for 2016.
Pauline Larwood and her late husband Dr. Tom Larwood were both honored for their service to Kern County at the event.
Tom Larwood passed away last month but was recognized posthumously; he's best known for his work in battling Valley Fever.
Pauline was Kern County's first female supervisor and was recognized for her many contributions to the county. The Boy Scouts were joined by friends and family of the Larwoods, and 23 ABC's own Brandon Johansen was given the honor of hosting the event.
