Coming out to friends and family isn't always easy for someone in the LGBTQ community. 

A panel discussion was held on Wednesday to help empower people to be able to come out. 

It was held at the Gay and Lesbian Center in downtown Bakersfield put on by the Dolores Huerta Foundation, where Teens 4 Equality leaders discussed topics including coming out and family acceptance. 

As part of Pride Week at California State University Bakersfield, an ally rally was held on Wednesday.

The event was called Ally Rally: "What it Means to be an Ally for the LGBTQ+ Community." 

CSUB is celebrating Pride Week this week through Saturday, Oct. 14.
