A local child development center in southwest Bakersfield was renamed today in honor of former Mayor Harvey Hall.

The Stine Child Development Center was changed to the Harvey L. Hall Child Development Center. 

Community Action Partnership of Kern's head start child development program serves low-income pre-school children and their families in Kern County. 

Organizers say the name change recommendation reflects Mr. Hall's long-standing commitment to CAPK and the head start programs.
