BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A local church will be holding a food drive for The Mission at Kern County to help with the increase of people in need of meals.

The Bakersfield First Assembly of God will hold the event April 28 and April 30, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.

"We would love for our local community to have a chance to help out those who need it in this current season," said a congregation member.

Officials are asking for non-perishables to be donated. Social distancing will be practiced during food drive hours.

The church is located at the corner of California Ave. and Marella Way.
