Local churches are planning to come together Friday for an outreach event against violence.
The organization, Victory Outreach, is holding "Peace for our City," starting at noon at several locations on Union Avenue.
They will go around, talking to residents in the area about what they can do to stop the growing violence.
From 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., organizers will be at Martin Luther King Jr. Park providing services, haircuts, outreach, food, toys raffles.
