Local cooling centers open August 16 due to high temperatures

The following cooling centers will be open on Tuesday, August 16. The centers are open 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.:


San Joaquin and Kern River Valley Centers

Buttonwillow Recreation and Park District, 556 Milo, Buttonwillow - Closed

East Bakersfield Veterans Building, 2101 Ridge Road, Bakersfield - Closed

East Niles Senior Center, 6601 East Niles Street, Bakersfield - Closed

Kern River Valley Senior Center/Veterans Building, 6405 Lake Isabella Blvd., Lake Isabella - Closed

The Mission at Kern County, 816 E. 21st Street, Bakersfield - Closed

Gusher Hall, 271 California Street, Maricopa - Closed

Taft Veterans Building, 213 Taylor Street, Taft - Closed

Walker Senior Center, 505 Sunset Avenue, Shafter - Closed
