The Annual Bakersfield Firefighters' Local 246 "Fill the Boot" fundraiser kicks off Friday morning.

The Bakersfield Fire Department together with the Muscular Dystrophy Association will be raising money for people suffering from muscular dystrophy and other life-threatening diseases. 

Local firefighters will be on the intersection of Rosedale Highway and Mohawk Street from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. 

All funds will benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. The money collected Friday will also help send local children to the MDA Summer Camp for free.
