Local law enforcement K-9 heroes need your help getting some life-saving vests.

Marley's Mutts Dog Rescue and Motor City Buick GMC is teaming up to raise 15 thousand dollars to provide both Kern County Sheriff's Office and Bakersfield Police Department K-9's with bulletproof vests.

On average this gear costs two thousand dollars each.

Today's event will be held at the Motor City Showroom on 3101 Pacheco Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Everyone will have a chance to meet and support your local law enforcement K-9 heroes, adopt a new forever friend, pet therapy dogs, and even purchase mutt militia gear.

All proceeds will go toward funding new vests and training equipment for these K-9 heroes.

If you are unable to make it out to the event, you can also donate online.
