BAKERSFIELD, Calif — A local meat market is saying that they do not see a meat shortage in the near future.
A manager at the Wood-Dale meat market is saying that customers don't need to panic buy meats.
"There is no shortage of meat here at this location or at my original location," said Chris Vasquez, the manager at Wood-Dale meat market. "So there is no real reason to buy in bulk and that's my big concern for people".
This comes after President Donald Trump signed an executive order under the defense production act requiring meat production facilities to stay open.
The order was signed after reports that the U.S. could see a meat shortage as soon as the end of this week due to coronavirus cases in meat processing plants.
