BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Local golfers will be hitting the links on Monday to help fight breast cancer and help those would are battling it.

The non-profit Links for Life is hosting their 26th Annual Sharyn Woods Memorial Golf Tournament at Seven Oaks Country Club. The tournament will feature two sets of tee-times, first at 7:30 a.m. next at 1:00 p.m. As of the weekend heading into the tournament organizers said they sold out all of their 40 four-person teams.

Links for Life executive director, Jennifer Henry, said their golf tournament events started 26 years ago when a group of ten professional women got together to raise money to fight cancer. 26 years later Henry said the tournaments have helped raise $8 million dollars.

Henry said money raised goes towards their Wig Boutiques, mammograms and ultrasounds, and public education.

Along with the golf tournament there will be raffle items, food trucks and meals inside the club.
