BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Help the most critical animals in need at the Kern County Animal Services.

The local pet shelter is asking for the community to donate meat varieties of baby food.

The donations will help them feed kittens in the kitten nursery and puppies that are isolated in the shelter because of an illness.

According to the Kern County Animal Services Facebook page, the shelter will accept any meat but Beech-Nut Classics made of chicken and chicken broth is a favorite among the kittens and puppies in the shelter.

The Kern County Animal Services will also accept pet food in addition to baby food, to help out with feeding animals at their shelter locations.
If you can help out, the donations can be dropped off at the shelter in Northwest Bakersfield, located at 3951 Fruitvale Avenue.

The shelter is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and can be contacted at (661) 868-7100.
