BAKERSFIELD, CA. — On Friday, new state-wide closures hit the Kern County salon and barbershop industry.
Mix Salon and Touchup Bar says they are having to adapt to the new shutdown orders.
According to the salon owner, they don't feel safe moving their services outdoors because of their location in Downtown Bakersfield.
The owner also says they focus on color correction at their salon and that would involve washing the client's hair indoors any way.
Another concern for local salon owners, who are being asked to move services outdoors, is the triple digit heat in Kern County.
At Mix Salon and Touchup Bar they are relying on to-go hair dye boxes and to-go facials to raise revenue while the salon is closed.
